Distribution Center Operations Manager

Supervised 40 employees in one of five Volvo distribution centers in the US.  Directed the procurement of inventory from more that 300 vendors on a local, national, and international level. 

 

       Developed and implemented a computerized system to track and analyze inventory acquisition costs and individual vendor performance.  These reports were used to negotiate favorable terms with vendors for price and delivery, as well as increased inventory turnover and order fill rates.

 

       Member of five-person team to define specifications and work with programmers in the development and testing of a system that cross-referenced the inventory of five distribution centers to improve fill rates and increase customer satisfaction.  Provided user training.
